Suggest you go to Morrisons supermarket where you can buy new shrubs for £2/3 just make sure they're healthy & watered

PH level <7 = Acid, 7 = Neutral, >7 = Alkaline
Plants grow best between PH level 6.0 - 7.2

On Acid soil use Lime, Chalk, Oyster shells, Wood Ash to bring it back to Neutral

(N) Nitrogen - plant growth, leaf development & greenery

Nutrients in fertiliser bags will show the % of NPK

(P) Phosphorous - root growth & creation of fruit, seeds & flowers.
(K) Potassium or Potash - root development & resists drought & diseases

Butterfly bush (Buddleja davidii, also B. globosa, B. alternifolia),,
Caryopteris (Caryopteris × clandonensis),
Firethorn (Pyracantha cultivars), Yellow, Red, Orange produce flowers, berries and act as good security due to deadly thorns.
Hawthorn* (Crataegus monogyna), Flowers well and security with deadly thorns will grow into tree easily

Get seeds & sow, free seeds from mags
Divide your overgrown plants if poss e.g. bluebells, crocosmia
Replant shrubs to better positions or to fill gaps
Buy self seeder's e.g. poppies
Replant e.g. seeds/plants dropped from birds can be replanted into an area of your desire.
