Time to get the shears out. I ventured to B&Q and bought their Verve trio of long handled cutters for the tougher branches, shears for the hedges and pruners for the roses etc all just £20. Although the garden has looked it's best this year some of the blooms and flowers are starting to fade so another Chelsea chop may give you another batch of flowers but many will be cut down to give them a chance to recover over the winter and come back refreshed. Don't forget to recycle the cuttings into the compost.
